Use for intended purpose
These machines are intended to be used for
sawing wood, wood-like materials, plaster and

offered by Festool, these machines can also be
used for sawing aluminium.
The user is liable for damage and
injury resulting from incorrect
usage!

Before starting up, please observe
the following
2.1
Safety
Before using the machine, please read
the enclosed safety instructions.
- Only use original Festool accessories.
- Deformed or cracked saw blades and saw
blades with blunt or broken cutting edges
must not be used.
- Saw blades made of High Speed Steel (HSS
steel) must not be used.
- Do not use any abrasive wheel.
- Only saw blades with the following
specifications must be used:
saw blade diameter of 160 mm;
cutting width of 2.2 mm to 2.6 mm;
toolholder diameter of 20 mm;
blade core thickness of max. 1.8 mm;
suitable for speeds of up to 9500 rpm.
- Saw blades must not be stopped by applying
pressure to the side of the main body.
- The machine must not be clamped when
plunged in the cut.
- Ensure that all equipment that covers the saw
blade functions perfectly.
- The spacer wedge must always be used.
- Do not use the machine to saw off branches
or tree trunks.
Wear suitable protection such
as ear protection, safety
goggles, a dust mask for work
which generates dust, and
protective gloves when working
with raw materials and when
changing tools.

Power supply and start-up
The mains voltage must corres-
pond to the specification on the
rating plate.
Always switch the machine off
before connecting or disconnecting
the mains lead!
See Fig. 2 for connection and disconnection of
the power cable.
The switch (1.8) is for switching on / off (push
= ON, release = OFF).
The switch can only be activated after the switch
lock (1.9) has been pushed up.
Activating the switch lock simultaneously locks
the plunging equipment and the sawing unit
can be moved down against the spring force.
This causes the saw blade to emerge from the
protective cover.
Only guide the machine against the
workpiece when it is switched on.
When the machine is lifted, the sawing unit
springs back into the starting position.
4
Machine settings
Always pull the plug out of the socket
before making settings.
