Installation
7.2.3 Installing cables and tubing
• Observe the following during installation:
–
When installing both cables and tubing in a chamber of the energy chain at the same time, be
aware of material compatibility.
–
Do not place motor cables in the same chamber as encoder cables or plug sockets with cables.
–
Install the cables and tubing without twisting and without mechanical tension. The cables and
tubing must be able to move freely within the curvature radius of the energy chain.
Energy chain Z-module
•
Install the customer-specific cables or tubing of the attachment component in the designated
chambers of the energy chain of the Z-module.
Energy chain Y-module
1. Push the slide of the Y-module in the direction of the end stop so the maximum possible length of
the energy chain is flat.
2. Insert the cables or tubing of the Z-module into the designated chambers of the energy chain of
the Y-module.
3. Place the customer-specific cables or hoses of the attachment component in the designated
chambers of the energy chain of the Y-module.
Cables and hoses between the energy chains
•
Observe the following when laying between the energy chains:
–
Tie the cables together with cable binders.
–
Observe the minimum bending radii of the cables and hoses.
–
Attach the cables and tubing to the chambers of the energy chain end pieces with cable
binders.
Checking energy chain
1. Move the energy chain through the entire stroke.

The energy chain must be able to move without hindrance.
2. In case of blockage: check and correct the installation of the cables and tubing.
