Commissioning
8.1
Commissioning the Sensor

Switch on the operating voltage.

RUN mode is active.
To activate the RUN mode at any time, press and hold the Edit button for 3
seconds.
8.2
Setting Switching Point A
Switching output OutA is preset for distance monitoring. The switching point for
OutA must be set or taught manually.
Option 1: Manually Setting the Switching Point for OutA
1. Press the Edit button.
Ä
EDIT mode is active. [OutA] flashes. With active security blocking, [Lock]
flashes.
2. Enter the set security code using the A or B pushbutton.
3. Press the Edit button to confirm the selection.
Ä
[SP] flashes.
4. Set switching point with the A or B pushbutton.
5. Press and hold the EDIT button for 3 seconds.
Ä
RUN mode is active.
Option 2: Teaching-in the Switching Point for OutA
1. Establish the desired switching distance between the object and the measur-
ing nozzle.
2. Press A pushbutton and keep it pressed.
3. Additionally, press the Edit button.
Ä

[OutA] and [TeachIn] flash. The value is adopted as the switching
point.
–
[Lock] flashes: safety lock active. The value is buffered.
4. Enter the set security code using the A or B pushbutton.
5. Press the Edit button.
Ä
–
[OutA] and [TeachIn] flash. The cached value is taken over as the
switching point.
–
RUN mode is active.

Menu Structure (EDIT Mode)
Some menu options or setting values are not applicable, depending on the
product variant and the selected switching function.

Displaying Parameters (INFO/SHOW Mode)
Requirement: the sensor is ready for operation (RUN mode).
1. Press A pushbutton, B pushbutton or A and B pushbutton.

Display shows the respective input value or an error number.
2. To display each of the following parameters, press the A pushbutton, B push-
button or A and B pushbutton

3. At the end of the SHOW mode, the respective minimum and maximum values
are displayed. To reset the display of the minimum and maximum values,
press the Edit button.
