All protective devices must be properly reinstalled immediately after the
maintenance and repair work has finished, and their correct functioning
must be checked. Never connect up components to the power supply with-
out properly installed housings or safety covers.
•
The electrical equipment must be regularly checked by an expert electrical
technician. All defects such as loose connections, faulty or damaged cables
must be rectified immediately.
•
Never clean electrical devices using water or other fluids.
•
Maintenance intervals for the surface of the stator depends on the degree
of contamination during use. Dry dirt particles (e.g. dust, lint, wood or plas-
tic shavings) do not impair the correct functioning since these are ejected.
•
The air flowing out of the air gap between the stator and slide also ensures
that small particles that are smaller than the gap itself do not get into the
gap. The latter does not apply to small, adhesive particles.
•
Remainder operating media (coolants, lubricating oils, adhesive dispersing
agents etc.) which become surface-dried or dried out, hardened or solidi-
fied must be removed from the surface of the stator - without removing the
slide - when the motor is at standstill for a longer period of time.
•
If necessary, remove ferromagnetic deposits (e.g. metal filings) from the
magnetically coded measuring tape (
Fig. 1). Even the low magnetic at-
traction force of the measuring tape can cause metal dust to accumulate.
•
If the linear axis is out of service for a longer period of time, it must always
be covered with a thin film of oil. The oil film serves to protect the surface
against corrosion. Use an appropriate protection agent for this.
Remedying damage
The surface of the stator must always be protected against impact and colli-
sion. If, despite this, the surface of the stator becomes damaged, then smooth
over the affected area using the oil stone from the maintenance and repair kit.
