Setting the number of stations per slave or the number of
I/O bytes

The function of this DIL switch depends on the set operating
mode of the CPX terminal (see also Tab.1/1).

With operating mode Remote I/O" you can set the number
of stations per slave with the 2−element DIL switch 4.
The required setting of the number of stations depends on
the equipment fitted on the CPX terminal (modules used) as
well as whether or not the I/O diagnostic interface is used.
The assigned I/O bits are in some cases reserved for system
functions and are therefore not available for the address
range of the CPX modules.
