3.5 Measuring resistors
1. Connect the red probe into the socket V/
and the black one into the COM socket.
2. Select the desired capacity using the
switch.
3. Connect the other end of the probes to the resistor to be measured and read the
displayed value.
Measuring resistors
The polarity of the red probe is "+"
When the display shows the symbol "Ol", it can mean that the circuit is open or that the
instrument is out of range: go to the next scale up.
The scale 200M
has 10 constant digits (1M
), the last 10 digits must be subtracted
from the value which appears in the short circuit.
Prior to carrying out measurements of resistors inserted in a circuit, make sure the
power supply to the circuit has been removed and any possible internal capacity has
been discharged.
3.6 Measuring capacitors
1. Position the function selector to "F" before connecting the capacitor, the display should
reset automatically and slowly.
2. Insert the capacitor to be measured in the "Cx" socket and read the value.
Measuring capacitors
The capacitor must be discharged before performing measurements.
NEVER apply current to the "Cx" socket or the instrument will be damaged beyond
repair.
3.7 Measuring inductance
1. Position the function selector to "L".
2. Connect the inductor to the ports "mA" and "COM".
Measuring inductance
When the display shows the symbol "Ol", it can mean that the instrument is out of
range: go to the next scale up.
the inductance may be different due to the different resistance of an inductor itself.
