General Instructions

RBDS system

This car radio is capable of receiving RBDS signals (RBDS = Radio -
Broadcasting - Data - System) in the FM range. RBDS is a technique which
enables the transmission of inaudible additional information in the FM
broadcasting range. This means that the transmitter broadcasts information
which can be evaluated by the car radio.

PTY (Program Type)

Specific types of programme, such as e.g. sport, pop music, classical music
etc., can be selected using the PTY function.
The PTY is broadcast by the RBDS transmitter, provided that the transmitter is
equipped with this function. The selected transmitter programme type can be
displayed or a search of a specific PTY transmitter can be performed.
