6.6  adapting the KED® Pro 

 

For Use as a splint

The KED

®

 Pro can be used as a splint for pelvic stabilization 

and hip and/or femur stabilization. Two possible methods of 

adaptation are shown here.

hiP anD/or FEMUr sTabilizaTion

The KED

®

 Pro and patient are placed on a long spine board 

with the head portion of the KED

®

 Pro toward the patient’s 

feet.
The torso portion of the is KED

®

 Pro positioned a little 

above the waist and centered (Figure 54). The torso flaps are 

secured around the patient and the head flaps are wrapped 

around the patient’s injured leg and secured with the head 

straps (Figure 54).

The KED

®

 Pro and patient are placed on a long spine board 

with the head portion of the KED

®

 Pro toward the patient’s 

feet.
The torso portion of the KED

®

 Pro is positioned a little 

above the waist and centered. The torso flaps are secured 

around  the  patient’s  pelvic  area  and  the  head  flaps  are 

wrapped around both the patient’s legs and secured with the 

head straps (Figure 55).

6.7  Using the KED® Pro With an 

 

anti-shock garment

The KED® Pro will not interfere with, or limit the use of, a 

pneumatic anti-shock garment (Figure 56).
