Hints:
When changing the EDID switch, note that it may be necessary to restart the connected devices.
If you do not achieve the desired output or display, please proceed as follows:
1. Select the preferred EDID mode. Switch to the requested HDMI source and activate the out-
put on the desired HDMI source.
2. Disconnect all devices from the mains for a few seconds.
3. Then plug in the mains plugs and switch on the devices. Do this in the following sequence:
TV / projector / AV receiver, matrix switch, HDMI source.
Audio
You can influence the supported audio formats via the EDID control. In addition, manual setting
is often possible on the source player. Please note the following:

7.1 audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD as well as DTS 5.1 are not processed by
some by some televisions. If the EDID setting nevertheless forces the output, such a televi-
sion remains mute.
•
There are many soundbars that have only one HDMI ARC connection. This is not a real HDMI
input, but an output with audio return channel! You cannot connect such a soundbar to an
HDMI output of the Matrix Switch. You can only connect it to the TV‘s HDMI INPUT, which is
marked “HDMI ARC”.
Scaler 4K > 1080p
If a source provides Ultra-HD signals, the scaler can be switched on for display on a second Full-
HD display. The original signal of 3840 x 2160 pixels then becomes 1920 x 1080 pixels. So it is
exactly one quarter. The respective frame rate and colour information is retained. A Full-HD display
thus receives 1080p at 60 Hz if the source’s output signal is 2160p at 60 Hz. This ensures the best
possible picture quality on the Full HD display. Other resolutions from the PC world such as 1440p
or other display resolutions such as 720p are not scaled. If a Full-HD display or projector does
not show video, please check if it supports 1080p. Some devices are limited to 1080i, or cannot
handle 24 Hz or 60 Hz frame rate.
