-- Keep proper balance and footing at all times. Do not over reach. Never stand at a higher level than the base
of the machine, when feeding material into it.
--  Always  keep  your  fingers  and  hands  away  from  the  feeding  chamber.  Use  the  push  stick  to  push  in  the
material.
-- When feeding material into the machine

be

extremely careful

that pieces of metal, rocks, glass bottles, cans

or other foreign objects are not included.
-- If the cutting mechanism strikes any foreign objects or if the machine should start making any unusual noise
or vibration, switch off the machine and allow it to come to a complete stop, disconnect the plug from the power
source, and take the following steps:

- Inspect the machine for damage.
- Check for and tighten any loose parts.
- Have any damaged parts replaced or repaired by an authorized service center with original parts.

-- Always stand clear of the discharge zone when operating this machine.
Do not allow processed material to build up in the discharge zone; this may prevent proper discharge and can
result kickback of material through the feed intake opening. Empty the collection box regularly.
-- Do not transport this machine while the power source is running.
-- Switch off the machine and disconnect the plug from its power source whenever you leave the work area.
-- Do not tilt the machine while in operation.
-- Motor should be kept clean of debris and other accumulations.

5.2.1- Power cord plugging

Plug the power plug into an approved electrical extension cord, and loop the extension cord around the power
cord anchoring hook.
Connect the extension cord plug to power supply.

Tip:  The  extension  cord  may  come  undone  from  the  power  cord  during  use.  To  avoid  this,  use  the  cable
restraint (9).

5.2.2- To switch ON and OFF

See 4.4.
Important :  After  you  have  switched  off the machine,  do  not  leave  it  unattended  while  still  connected to the
electrical supply. Unplug from mains and store product.

5.2.3- Use.

1. Insert the material to be shredded into the opening (feeding chamber) on the right side.
It will be automatically drawn into the machine by the cutter as it turns anticlockwise.
2. Do not stuff the opening completely full to avoid jamming the machine.
3.  Alternate feeding branches and small litter that  is a bit wet  and decomposed. This will also help to avoid
jamming the cutter.
4. Squashy kitchen rubbish must be composted, never put it through the shredder!
5. Branches with leaves must always be entirely through the shredder and out of the way before feeding new
material into the machine. Make sure the shredded material is able to fall unobstructed into the collection box
without blocking the outlet.
6. The ventilation opening must not be locked by the shredded material.
7. Continuous shredding of thick wood or branches can cause the machine to jam.
8. Soft material like leaves or sprigs can easily block the inlet; use a push stick to poke it in.
9. Always check litter for nails and stones before shredding as they can seriously damage the shredder.
10. For better performance and comfort, it is recommended to empty the collection box regularly (for ex. when
it reaches 2/3

rd

 of its capacity).

Tips for shredding

Depending on the type, age and dryness of the wood, branches will be more or less easily shredded.
The best results are obtained when fresh branches are shredded shortly after being cut.
It  is recommended  to  shred  soft garden  waste  in  small quantity,  especially  when  the  waste  is  wet.  You  can
avoid blockage by performing periodic shredding sessions.

5.2.4

– Adjusting the counter plate

To obtain an optimum shredding result and prevent damage to the blade, the counter plate must be adjusted at
regular intervals.
The counter plate must also be adjusted when so called interlinkage occurs.
1. Turn counter plate adjusting knob (A) clockwise until a slight friction noise can be heard and fine aluminum
chips fall from the ejector chute for a short period of time.
2. Then, the materials to be shredded should be fully cut again.
