General Description

Informer Sensor/Radio Interface Unit (Model I-IPSIU)

Determine if the radio provides a contact closure for carrier detect or audio. If contact

closure is provided use the C.D./Rear Input for Carrier Detect. If audio is provided use

the Audio input for Carrier Detect. Audio from the I-IPSIU to the radio uses JP3 pins 1

and 2. PTT from the I-IPSIU to the radio uses JP3 pins 3 and 4.

: The Vertex VX-4500 cable (model number 17501602A) goes directly to the

I-IPSIU without the need for an I-IPSIU Universal Adapter Cable (model number

models in addition to the radio specific cable for the other radio models.
