Sicurgas P63
CARBON MONOXIDE CO DETECTOR
GENERAL FEATURES
Carbon Monoxide Detector is a carbon monoxide sensitive probe equipped
safety device. The detector works with concentration of carbon monoxide
considered not dangerous for an adult in normally healthy conditions even if
breathed for several hours (see: researches of U.S. Army Human Engeneering
Laboratory USA).
To warn a danger the intermittent red LED on the front of Sicurgas P63 starts
flashing emitting simultaneously an intermittent acoustic signal.
At the same time a relay activates an electrovalve or a divice to bring fresh air in
the room.
The green led indicates the correct functioning of the device.
The yellow led flashing intermittently and the acoustic buzzer, indicate a bad
functioning of the device or a breakdown of the sensor.
IMPORTANT
Sicurgas P63 has been designed and manufatured using the latest
technologies in the detection of carbon monoxide . Sicurgas P63 performances
will certainly increase to preserve human lives from carbon monoxide very
dangerous intoxications; it is necessary to read carefully the instructions before
using the device and to keep into account the following warnings :
1.
Sigurgas P63 has to be installed by an authorized contractor
2.
The device has to be permanently hard wired to the electrical supply and to
other controlled divices. There should not be the possibilitiy to interrupt
the electrical connections neither with snap switches nor by
disconnecting outlets.

3.
The device uses a semicondutor sensor. Each time that Sicurgas P63 is
operated it will start a 30 sec. test during which period the alarm signals
are not working. The sensor can be activated also by casual presence of
other substances in high concentration that are not the specific one
controlled by the sensor device (such as ethyl alcohol fumes,
trichloroethylene, ect.). For no reason in such cases the electrical supply
should be interrupted with the intention of silencing or disconnecting the
detector.
4.
In case of alarm: immediately open the windows to increase ventiation and
check cause of the alarm to eliminate it.
5.
It is recommended to replace the device after a normal.working period of
maximum 4 years Such a period should be shortened as much as the
enviroment in which the device is operating is polluted (for example fried-
food shops, house or restaurant kitchens, dusty rooms and in general
rooms with anomalous presences of resinous or oily fumes which can
deposit dirt on the sensor thus compromising its correct functioning).
FIXING OF
Sicurgas is supplied with a socket apt to fix it on 3 modules embedded boxes
or on the wall.
Unscrew the body/cover fixing screw and rotate the cover upwards. Fix the
base to the wall (see paragraph "Sicurgas Position ") or on the embedded
box while using the back hole to enter the connection cables.
After having fixed and after having connected the cables (see paragraph
"Sicurgas Connections") replace the cover on the base making sure that the
two serrations of the cover will perfectly fit in the two upper runners. Fix the
screw of the cover

CONNECTIONS OF SICURGAS
Sicurgas P63 can control an aerator/air
conditioner to change the air in a divice
controlled room if conteining carbon
monoxide and can control a normally
closed valve (NC) to intercept possible
fuel-gas.
To operate Sicurgas P63 needs the
connection of the 230Vac - 50Hz line to
terminals 4 and 5; fit a wire link between terminals 2 and 4 and connect
the air conditioner to terminals 3 and 5.
WHERE TO POSITION SICURGAS
The detector should be fixed on a wall at a level of approximately 150
cm from the floor.
For a correct functioning of
Sicurgas P63 the device should not
be installed:
-
behind a wall or under units or
shelves that can prevent the natural
air circulation in the room
-
next to air conditioning plants
(Minimum distance 2 meters)
-
over the cooking units or steam sources (bathtubs, ect.)
-
in places easily reachable by water splashes, next to basins,
showers, ect.
ALARM and TEST
In Alarm condition, the intermittent red
LED starts flashing and the Sicurgas P63
emits an intermittent acoustic signal; at
the same time the relay activates an
electrovalve or a device for refrshing the
air in the room. The Alarm condition will
cease when the
cause of the alarm is over. Sicurgas P63 is also provided with a TEST
button that allows to check the installation. To test the installation is
sufficient to press the Test button posed at the bottom of the Sicurgas
P63; this operation will activate a control procedure in which the
installation components will be checked (the yellow and red LED start
flashing at the same time, the buzzer emits an intermittent acoustic
signal and the relay activates the electrovalve/device). After 30 seconds
the detector will immediately resume the normal operation.
