Components and safety
devices
This Fagor pressure cooker is designed with
multiple safety devices. Please familiarise
yourself with these important safety
systems and how they work before you use
the cooker for the first time:
Rotary valve (22).
Once the cooker has
reached its working pressure, the valve
releases excess steam, keeping the working
pressure inside the pot constant. We
recommend using caution and protecting
your hands when operating the rotary valve
(22), as the valve may be hot due to the
characteristic escape of steam.
Safety valve (7).
If the rotary valve (22)
becomes clogged or does not work for any
reason, and there is an increase in pressure
inside the pot, this safety valve (7) would
come into operation, allowing the steam
to escape to balance the pressure. If this
happens, you will need to gently remove
the pot from the heat source, wait for the
pressure to fall to open it, and clean the
rotary valve (22) with plenty of water, mild
soap and a fine rod.
Silicone safety valve sealing ring (25)
(Clasica model).
If the safety valve (7)
is blocked as well, the safety sealing ring
(25) detaches, allowing steam to escape
through the valve opening, located under
the clamp bar (35).
Clamp bar (35).
If the safety systems
mentioned above were to stop working, the
clamp bar (35) will allow the lid (1) of the
pressure cooker to open enough to release
excess pressure inside. In this case, take
the cooker to a Fagor-authorised technical
service centre for servicing. Do not use
the pressure cooker until the problem has
been remedied.
Additional features
1
The pressure cooker releases
steam when it is working, so use
the appropriate amount of water during
cooking. With the right amount of heat, the
pressure cooker works on its own.
2
Cooking with this pressure cooker
preserves a higher proportion of minerals
and vitamins than in traditional cooking.
Additional features
(Clasica model)
1
The heat-diffusing base (12) of the
pressure cooker is specially designed
to provide greater resistance and ensure
even heat distribution.
2
The pressure cooker base is thicker
than common pots, giving it extra heat
distribution capacity.
NOTE (CLASICA MODEL):
this
pressure cooker is made from thick
18/10 stainless steel, with heat diffuser
base incorporated in the bottom. Your
pressure cooker is compatible with all
heat sources, including induction.
NOTE (CLASICA MODEL):
this
pressure cooker is for use in domestic
kitchens. It is not suitable for use in
industrial kitchens.
