1. If the scales are in programming mode,
press
to exit this mode and enter
normal functioning mode with body fat
monitoring. The following will appear on
the display:

Select the memory position in which you
have entered your personal data using

. The scales are now
ready for use.
2. Stand on the scales carefully, barefoot
and with dry feet. Dry the weighing
surface for better conduction. Stand on
the scales with your feet apart and lined
up with the metal conductor pads (7).
There are two pads for each foot.
3. As soon as you stand on the scales the
digits on the display will increase. When
the digits stop increasing and begin
flashing, the scales are showing your
real weight.
4. Stand still while the scales automatically
calculate your percentages of body fat
and body water. The display will show
your body fat level ("BF") and then your
body water level ("BW"). You can now
step off the scales. The percentages of
body fat and body water will appear
alternately 5 times, and the display will
then switch off.
The status line at the bottom of the
display, with segments shown in vertical
bars (FIG 2. h), gives an indication of
CODE
body fat level, showing how your level
compares to the statistical standard. It
will show that you are either below the
standard weight, at the correct weight or
overweight, and can be taken as a weight
status reference.
NOTE: Whenever you press
■
and
switch the scales off and back on again,
you can follow steps I – V again to check
or programme all your personal and
previous measurement reports before
taking new measurements.
To use the scales as a normal weighing
scales, proceed as follows:
1. Switch on the unit by gently placing
your foot on the front part of the scales.
The display will light up and go to
normal weighing mode:
2. Step carefully onto the scales (do not
jump onto them). The digits on the
display will count up and stabilise at
your weight. After a few seconds the
display will automatically switch off.
NOTE: For correct weighing, weigh yourself
without clothes and without shoes. Always
weigh yourself as far as possible in the
same circumstances (in the morning before
breakfast for example) and at the same
time of day.
8. NORMAL FUNCTIONING AS A
WEIGHING SCALES
When the battery needs replacing, the
following message will appear on the
display:
