PATH CONTROL
6.5.3 CIRCULAR INTERPOLATION (G02, G03)
In order to perform a circular interpolation, the system must operate in Closed Positioning
Loop.
There are two types of circular interpolations.
G02:
Clockwise interpolation.
G03:
Counter-clockwise interpolation.
The movements programmed after G02 and G03, are carried out following a circular
path at the programmed feedrate F.
The programming format is: "G02 X Y I J" or "G03 X Y I J", where:
G02
Clockwise interpolation.
G03
Counter-clockwise interpolation.
X
X coordinate of the end point.
Y
Y coordinate of the end point.
I
Distance from the arc's starting point to the center of the arc along X.
J
Distance from the arc's starting point to the center of the arc along Y.
The X and Y coordinates may be either absolute or incremental and the I and J values
always define the distance from the starting point to the center of the arc.
When any of the X or Y coordinates of the end point is the same as that of the starting
point, it is not necessary to program it. However, the I and J values must always be
programmed even when their values are "0".
Attention:
G02 and G03 are modal and incompatible with each other and with G00
and G01.
G02/G03 may also be programmed as G2/G3.
It is possible to vary the actual feedrate by using the external operator
panel "JOG 100" or by means of the feedrate override inputs at pins 10
and 11 of connector I/O1.
