Configuring Mail Servers
To change the SMTP port number in Lotus Domino R4:
1.
Open the notes.ini used by the Lotus Domino Server (by default
C:\winnt\notes.ini ).
2.
Change the setting
SMTPMTA_IPPORT
to a port other than 25 (for
example 26). If the
SMTPMTA_IPPORT
setting does not exist, you can
add it to notes.ini manually.
3.
Restart the Lotus Domino Server.
E.2.2 Microsoft Exchange 5.5
If you are installing F-Secure Internet Gatekeeper to a Microsoft
Exchange Server 5.5, it is recommended to change the SMTP port
number of Microsoft Exchange 5.5. and use the standard SMTP TCP port
number 25 for F-Secure Internet Gatekeeper.
To change the SMTP port number in MS Exchange 5.5:
1.
On the MS Exchange Server, open the file " ./system32/drivers/etc/
services ", located in your Windows NT directory.
2.
Change the line "
smtp 25/tcp mail
" to "
smtp 26/tcp mail
". This will
change the SMTP port from 25 to 26.
3.
Reboot the Microsoft Exchange server machine.
E.2.3 Microsoft Exchange 2000
If you are installing F-Secure Internet Gatekeeper to a Microsoft
Exchange 2000 Server, it is recommended to change the SMTP port
number of Microsoft Exchange and use the standard SMTP TCP port
number 25 for F-Secure Internet Gatekeeper.
