Summary
This manual includes the rules set by the french na-
tional authority regulating the practice of sup.Make
sure your comply with the regulation sets by the
local authorities wherever you practice.
For SUP’s that fall into the category of beach
vessels (under 3.5 m long), they are required to
stay within 300 m of the coastline.
For SUP’s that are longer than 3.5m or 11’6ft,
they are no longer considered beach vessels.
They are allowed to go beyond 300 m, but not
further than 2 miles.
Beyond 300 m, basic security equipment is re-
quired, related to the characteristics of the ves-
sel and mandatory within 2 miles of shelter.
You should be equipped with:
∙ An individual floating devise or a protective suit:
∙ A lifejacket or a neoprene wetsuit.
∙ A personal strobe light.
∙ A towing apparatus: the leash insert and leash
meet these requirements.
WARNING: The inflatable SUP’s longer than 3.5 m are allowed beyond 300 m under the
single condition that they are constituted of at least 2 inflatable compartments. Hence the
SUP’s that have only one inflation valve are not allowed beyond 300 m. Do not use this pro-
duct if the wind is more than 10 knots or in case of a storm or lightning.

of water (These conditions do not need to be followed in a supervised

RULES OF NAVIGATION
BEFORE USING YOUR
STAND UP PADDLE BOARD,
CAREFULLY READ THIS MANUAL
AND KEEP IT FOR FURTHER REFERENCES.
Using this product can be dangerous and
can lead to serious accidents. It is important
to follow the security guidelines, but the best
way to stay safe is to use caution. You are
responsible for your safety and the safety of
the people around you.
∙ It is recommended that you do not go out with
an offshore wind that pushes you away from
land more than the equivalent of 1 hr of paddling
(while remaining in the allowed safety distances).
∙ The rider should inform the lifeguards or a third
party of his trajectory.
∙
The rider should carry a dry bag with a
communication devise, a first aid kit and a
towing apparatus.
∙ It is recommended to use a life jacket and a
wetsuit when the water temperature is below 20°.
∙ When practicing long distance itineraries it is
recommended to always go with at least 2 people.
The rider is connected to his board by a leash. The leash must be at least equal or longer than the
length of the board. No safety or security equipment is required for the beach vessels. For the SUP’s
allowed to go beyond 300 m, safety and basic security equipment is required, related to the charac-
teristics of the vessel and mandatory within 2 miles of shelter (art.240-3.07). An individual floating
devise (art.240- 3.12) or a protective suit (art.240- 3.13). A life jacket or a neoprene wetsuit. A personal
strobe light (art.240-3.14) & a towing apparatus.
