Owner’s Guide
This vehicle was designed and manufactured in the United States of America (USA).
The standards and specifications listed in the following text originate in the USA unless
otherwise indicated.
Use Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) approved parts to keep the warranty effective.
If you do not correctly do maintenance on the batteries, you will cancel the warranty.
Refer to the MAINTENANCE section for instructions on the correct maintenance of the
batteries.
BATTERY PROLONGED STORAGE
Batteries discharge over time. The rate of discharge changes according to the ambient tem-
perature, the age and condition of the batteries.
Completely charged batteries will not freeze in winter temperatures unless the temperature
is less than -75°F (- 60°C).
For winter storage, the batteries must be clean, completely charged and disconnected from
any electrical drain.
The battery charger can remain connected to the vehicle to keep a full charge on the batter-
ies while the charger is connected to an active electrical supply. If the power to the electrical
supply is disconnected or interrupted, the battery charger will continuously check the
charge on the battery pack. A continuous check of the battery pack will pull power from the
battery pack and drain the batteries.
The batteries must be checked and charged again as required or at a minimum of
30-day intervals.
Check and keep correct fluid level in all battery cells during the storage period.
Correct fluid level is necessary for maximum battery performance.
BATTERY DISPOSAL
Lead-acid batteries are recyclable. Return discarded batteries to distributor, manufacturer
or lead smelter for recycling. For neutralized spills, put residue in acid-resistant containers
with absorbent material such as sand. Dispose in accordance with local, state and federal
regulations for acid and lead compounds. Contact local or state environmental officials for
the disposal information.
