Resident Handling Procedures

Resident transfer from Wheelchair to EZ1000

• 

Lower the EZ1000 to its lowest position using 
the hand control.

• 

Lock the EZ1000 casters.

• 

Tilt the EZ1000 forward using the hand control.

• 

Raise one of the foldable armrests fully 
(wheelchair approach side).

• 

Position the wheelchair close to the EZ1000 
seat side and laterally transfer the resident onto 
the EZ1000 seat. The resident can grasp the 
unfolded armrest while the caregiver supports 
the resident under the arms to ease transfer.

• 

Secure the resident with the safety belt and 
lower the raised armrest.

• 

Remove the wheelchair, recline and raise the 
EZ1000 to a convenient transfer height for both 
resident and caregiver.

• 

Unlock the casters and transport resident to 
shower area.

• 

To return resident to the wheelchair, simply 
reverse above procedures.

WARNING: Never leave resident unattended.

NOTE: Always lock the EZ1000 casters at 
all times when performing transfers onto and 
from the EZ1000.

Showering Resident
Safety belt must be securely fastened around the 
resident at all times.

• 

Lock the caster brakes.

• 

Use the hand control to raise the chair to 
a convenient height for both resident and 
caregiver.

• 

Tilt/recline the chair to a convenient angle 
for both resident and caregiver using the hand 
control.

• 

Shower and wash the resident in this position.

• 

When the shower procedures are complete, dry 
the resident with a towel. Adjust the resident to 
a convenient transport height and recline angle.

• 

Clean and wipe the EZ1000 immediately 
after each use according to your detergent 
supplier’s recommendations.

Toileting Resident
The EZ1000 can be used over both floor and wall-
mounted toilets.

• 

Closely place the EZ1000 with resident over the 
toilet.

• 

Raise the EZ1000 to a convenient height for 

both resident and caregiver and lock the casters.

The resident can also be toileted by using the 
optional EZ1000 bed pan accessory, which should be 
attached to the chair 

before

 resident is transferred 

onto the chair to avoid pinching.
