The DVR comes with a built in 8v ~ 36v DC regulator. The built-in regulator provides
installation flexibility to varying auto-electric systems.
The purpose of the external DC Power Conditioner however, is to provide a solid steady
stream of current to the DVR. This conditioner comes with a 15amp fusible link to protect
the internal components from electrical surges. This conditioner accepts an 8v ~ 36v DC
irregular input (from the vehicle) and provides a steady DC output (to the DVR)
(Note: It is NOT a regulator it is current conditioner)
The DC Power conditioner is typically used in older vehicles or in vehicles which operate
considerable amounts of equipment simultaneously causing irregular electrical power
draw. Examples are Lift buses, special tactical vehicles, mobile communications centers,
and heavy equipment using an electric, hydraulic, or winching system.
