Control Connection
To pass serial data between a control device and a controlled device (such as control of a projector), connect the desired type of
device to the RS-232 port on the transmitter (
B
). To configure the RS-232 protocol, see the
PowerCage 411 Series User Guide
at
. The default RS-232 protocol is as follows:
•
9600 baud
•
No parity
•
8 data bits
•
1 stop bit
•
No flow control
Throughput Connections
NOTE:
figure 3 for fiber cable connections. Connect the transmitter to a receiver
in one of three ways:
•
One way (transmitter to receiver) only, perform step 1.
•
Two way (transmitter to receiver and return), perform steps 1 and 2.
•
Output B is available to transmit 4K @ 60 Hz uncompressed signal when the
FOX3 Uncompressed Video LinkLicense is purchased.
1.
Connect the fiber between the transmitter A Out port and the receiver A In port (
1
).
NOTE:
Ensure that the transmitter and connected receiver are in the same
transmission mode, singlemode (SM) or multimode (MM) and use the correct
SM or MM fiber cable to connect the devices.
2.
To return serial data from the receiver (such as responses from a controlled device)
connect a cable between the receiver A Out port and the transmitter A In port (
2
).
NOTE:
On the FOX3 T 301 PC and FOX3 T 311 PC, this connection is needed
for USB signal communication.
3.
To transmit an uncompressed 4K @ 60 Hz signal, using the Uncompressed Video
LinkLicense, repeat step 1 on the SFP B port on the transmitter and receiver.

Operation
After all transmitters, receivers, and their related devices are connected and powered, the system is fully operational. If any
problems are encountered, verify the cables are routed and connected properly and that all display devices have identical
resolutions and refresh rates. If problems persist, call the Extron S3 Sales & Technical Support Hotline.
To configure and control the PowerCage FOX3 transmitter, use the Extron Product Configuration Software (PCS), Extron Simple
Instruction Set (SIS™) commands, or the internal web page with the PowerCage 411 enclosure.
NOTE:
An Extron Insider account is required to download and use PCS. Contact an Extron support representative, to obtain
an Insider Account.
