The Remote Control Handset
AvediaPlayer Receivers can be controlled using the Exterity Infrared (IR) remote control handset.
Inserting Batteries
The batteries for the IR Remote Control are shipped separately. If the batteries in the remote
control stop working, they should be replaced with two AAA sized replacements. Ideally use
carbon zinc (R03) replacement batteries. Alkaline (LR03) batteries may be used but offer no
advantage. Do not mix batteries of different types or age.
Warning:
"Ultra" or "plus" batteries, especially those containing lithium (FR03), must not be installed in the IR
Remote Control.
To insert new AAA disposable batteries:
1 On the back of the IR Remote Control, push down on the battery compartment lid and slide it
towards the nearest end of the handset to detach it from the controller.
2 Insert two new AAA (R03 or LR03) batteries. Orient the batteries so that the positive (+) and
negative (–) ends are positioned as shown by the diagram on the bottom of the battery
compartment.
3 Relocate the battery compartment lid and slide to close.
Remote Control Key Functions
Figure 1 identifies the keys/functions that are used by the AvediaPlayer Receiver and can also be
used by a TV.
The response of the AvediaPlayer Receiver to remote control key presses is determined by the
installed firmware version of the receiver. Some button functions can also be customized. Refer to
the relevant
AvediaPlayer Receiver Administrator’s Guide
for the installed firmware for more
information.
Note:
When the remote control has been programed for TV operation, you can apply the key
functions detailed in Figure 1 to the receiver by first pressing and holding the OK key.
