6. Troubleshooting

6.1 The em.exe cannot find the unit

The em.exe will not find the device if it is not in the same sub-net
as the client PC. If you connect the PC to unit directly instead of
via  a  Ethernet  Hub,  you  have  to  use  a  cross-over  LAN  cable  if
your host Ethernet port does NOT support auto cross-over feature
(the  Gigabit  Ethernet  supports  auto-cross  over  feature,  in  this
case  either  straight  or  cross-over  LAN  cable  will  work).  Then  you
have to change your Ethernet Port’s Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to
Static IP instead of Dynamic IP. Set the Its IP address to the same
sub-net as the Gateway unit (the Gateway’s default IP address is
192.168.1.254,  DHCP  is  disabled),  for  example  192.168.1.1  as  the
following screen shot.
