GB - SOLAR LAMP FOR THE GARDEN
Read this manual carefully and follow the instructions below before you start using the solar lamp.
METHOD OF OPERATION
The solar panel absorbs solar power during the day and transforms it into electricity, which is then stored in the rechargeable battery. When darkness falls, the lamp
automatically comes on using the energy stored during the day. The period of operation of the lamp depends on its geographic placement, weather conditions and
the light that is available at the respective time of the year.
CHOOSING THE IDEAL PLACEMENT
Select an outdoor placement with full, direct sunlight where the solar panel can receive at least 6 hours of sunlight per day. A shady placement affects the charging
of the battery and reduces the operating time of the lamp after sundown. Do not place the lamp close to strong source of light such as street lighting as this may
cause the lamp to turn off automatically.
THE FIRST TIME YOU USE THE LAMP
ASSEMBLY
Turn the ON/OFF switch to the “ON” position. The lamp is controlled automatically by a light sensor. At sundown, the solar lamp turns on using the energy stored
in the battery. When you press the switch, the solar lamp turns off to save energy. If the solar lamp does not come on automatically at sundown, check the follow-
ing:
1. Make sure that the power switch is set to the “ON” position.
2. Make sure that the solar lamp is placed in a sunny place and that the solar panel can receive direct sunlight.
The lamp has two light functions:
The lamp is turned on using the ON/OFF switch.
Pull the string: the lamp will be ON with a light strength of 5 lumen
Pull the string again, and the lamp will be ON with a light strength of 100 lumen
Pull the string for the third time and the lamp will go back to the initial setting.
The lamp is turned on using the ON/OFF switch.
PRECAUTIONS
1. The solar lamp is designed to operate after sundown. If there are strong sources of light nearby, this may cause the solar lamp to operate at low intensity or not
turn on at all.
2. Even if the battery is fully charged on delivery, the voltage level may fall by the time you have received the lamp. Let the solar lamp charge for a whole day in
the “ON” position to ensure maximum performance. Turn the switch to “ON” after 24 hours.
3. Keep the surface of the solar panel clean. Dirt on the surface reduces the efficiency of the charging process.
4. Expected time of operation, summer: 6 to 8 hours
Expected time of operation, winter: 1 to 4 hours
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
The battery is not replaceable.
SAFETY
- This product is intended for outdoor use and is only designed for decorative purposes.
- Do not place the solar lamp close to flammable materials.
- Do not place the lamp under water.
If the product is damaged, dispose of it in accordance with the applicable regulations.
ENVIRONMENTAL CARE AND DISPOSAL OF WASTE
Electric and electronic devices (EEE) and batteries contain materials, components and substances, which can be dan-
gerous to humans and to the environment, when waste disposal is not handled correctly.
EEE and batteries are marked with the crossed out garbage bin below which symbolizes that the garbage cannot be
disposed of together with normal household waste but must be separated.
For this purpose, all cities have established collection systems where EEE disposal and batteries can be delivered free
of charge at the local recycling station or another type of collection system. For more information please contact your
local waste collection service.
