1 GENERAL OVERVIEW OF THE EXPLO-IGNITION SYSTEM

This part of the manual is meant to teach you some basic words of the Explo X2-series, and give you
a better understanding into the function and usage of the ignition system.

1.1 FUNCTION OF THE IGNITION SYSTEM

To provide the user of the system with the maximum security and pinpoint every ignition channel
exactly, the X2 system features multiple settings that encode the address of every device.

Generally you can imagine the addressing of an ignition channel the same way as with a house, which
is why below you can find the comparison of both:

1.1.1 SYSTEMADDRESS

The systemaddress is the basic encryption and is individual for every customer. Generally, receivers
can only be controlled by transmitter which feature the same systemaddress.

The systemaddress is being assigned by the manufacturer and cannot be changed on the transmitter
by the customer, however it is possible to learn a receiver onto a transmitter, allowing you to use
receivers with that transmitter. This has the benefit that no other Explo user can access your
systemaddress, but it still allows you to borrow receivers from eachother.

1.1.2 SECURITY KEY / FREQUENCY

The second stage of the encryption are the Security Key and the Frequency. The security key is a
three-digit number, which is used in addition to the systemaddress to encrypt the system. Just like with
the systemaddress, only transmitters and receivers featuring the same security key can communicate
with eachother. A subsystem should always be created if the same ignition system is used at two
different locations, that aren't more than 20km apart.

Contrary to the systemaddress, the security key can be freely changed by the customer. This allows
the customer to break up his system into subsystems, and fire two shows close to eachother without
interfering with oneanother.

The frequency of the ignition system can be slightly altered at the X2-series. This has the same
benefits as the security key (creating subsystems), but can also be used to avoid certain frequencies,
should the main frequency be used by other devices. Please note that also here only devices with the
