If the +24V is removed from Terminal A7 whilst the drive is controlling the motor under "Run"
conditions, the controller will cause the motor to decelerate rapidly to rest at a rate determined
by PROG STOP I LIM, PROG STOP LIMIT and PROG STOP TIME. If the signal is re-
applied to Terminal A7, the motor remains stationary until a new Start command is applied via
the LINK network.

Additional terminals, Terminal A7 (Program Stop) and Terminal A8 (Coast Stop), provide extra
facilities for the control of the regenerative controller:
•
Terminal A8 (Coast Stop) must be held at +24V to allow closure of the main contactor, the
connection provides the power supply to allow the electronics to operate the auxiliary relay
and hence the main contactor.
Connect Terminal A8 (Coast Stop) to Terminal A9 (+24V) via a normally open contact of an
"emergency" stop relay. The emergency stop relay should not be part of the normal
sequencing of the system, which is implemented via the Start contacts, but is a relay which
can be operated in exceptional circumstances where human safety is of paramount
importance.

Terminal A7 (Program Stop) provides a facility for regenerative braking on a 4 Quadrant
drive.

An Analog Tachogenerator is connected to the Converter using a screened twisted
pair cable throughout its entire length to provide speed feedback via the Tacho
Calibration Option Board. This provides facility for a DC tachogenerator. The
screen is grounded or earthed only at the drive end, any other grounding
arrangement may cause problems.

A Microtach can be connected to provide speed feedback via the Microtach
Option Board. using the international standard “ST” fibre optic system.
F1 is the fibre optic receiver input socket. Terminals A9 (+24V dc) and A1
(0V) are used to provide the supply and return respectively.
