CDS 302 GAS CYLINDER REPLACEMENT

1) Position seat at its lowest height.
2) Use a 4 mm. Allen key to extract the three screws (13) and remove the cushion.
3) Remove the snap ring (24) and extract the top part of the seat.
4) Use a 5 mm. Allen key to remove the three screws (32) under the piston-securing plate (9) and
extract the flange (28) complete with its three pins (15).
5) Grasp the gas cylinder firmly with one hand, and with the other - using a plastic mallet - tap the
five spokes at the base (29) until the cylinder is freed.
6) Insert a new gas cylinder in the base, overturning it and hitting it in with a mallet, until the cylin-
der fits in perfectly.

1) Position seat at its lowest height and turn it over.
2) Remove snap ring (24) and extract the base (29A) or (29B).
3) Use a 4 mm. Allen key to extract the three screws (13) and remove the cushion.
4) Grasp the gas cylinder firmly with one hand, and with the other - using an iron mallet - tap the
three spokes of the fixed hub (12) until the gas cylinder (19) can be extracted.
N.B. Take care not to hit the three dowels (15) with the mallet
5) Insert the new gas cylinder into the fixed hub (12). Overturn the cylinder (so that the fixed hub
is on top), grasp the cylinder and tap the hub with an iron mallet until the cylinder is well insert-
ed in the hub.
6) Check that the three piston-control levers (9) do not move with respect to the hub. To eliminate
a slight amount of clearance, use a 2 mm. Allen key on the three dowels (15) to adjust.
7) Reassemble in reverse order of the above.
