4/8-way AV distributing amplifier
The AV distributing amplifier VSD-104/VSD-108 was designed to connect the inputs and outputs of audio-
visual devices (AV devices) with one another and to amplify the video signals. With the VSD-104/VSD-108
you can view the signal from an AV unit on up to four or eight TV-sets simultaneously, or you can record the
signal by connecting suitable recording units.
• Distribute audio, composite video and s-video television signals from a single AV source to
multiple television monitors
• Daisy-chain several units for larger displays with equal picture quality and save the expense of
additional AV receivers
• Typical applications are information systems in shopping centres, schools, hotels, railway
stations, airports etc.

Safety Instructions
Setting into Operation
•
Before your initial start-up, please make sure that there are no transport damages.
Should there be any, do not take the device into operation and immediately consult your
dealer.
• Operate the device only after having familiarized with its functions. Do not permit operation by
persons not qualified for operating the device.
• Protect the device against humidity and heat. Keep away from heaters and other heating sources!
• We recommend a frequent cleaning of the device. Disconnect from mains first. Use a soft lint-free and
moistened cloth. Never use alcohol or solvents!
• There are no serviceable parts inside the device. Maintenance and service operations are only to be
carried out by authorized dealers.
• Damage, caused by manual modifications on the device are not subject to warranty. If the device is
used for other purposes than originally intended or if it is not correctly connected, the product may
suffer damages and the guarantee becomes void.
The AV distributor must be powered by the supplied 12 V, 500 mA power unit only. The power unit is
allowed to be operated with an alternating current of 100-230 V AC, 50/60 Hz. The power unit falls
under protection-class 2 and the device under protection-class 3. Both devices were designed for
indoor use only.
When connecting, pay attention to the color coding of the connection jacks:

• Connect the transmission unit and your TV sets to the VSD-104/VSD-108 units according to the
figure below.
• Switch off the devices to be connected before connecting them to the jacks. Do not turn them
on again until you have made all necessary connections.
• Connect the input VIDEO IN/AUDIO IN with the output of your AV source unit (e.g. DVD player,
VCR, AV receiver).
• An additional audio device (e.g. MP3 player) can be connected to the AUX IN jack via a 3.5 mm
mini-stereo jack.
• Connect the supplied power unit to the 12 V DC IN jack. Plug the power unit into your outlet. As
soon as the device is supplied with power, the POWER indicator lights up.
• Switch your TV-sets or recording units to the AV program slot (see the operating instructions of
the respective units). The recording function must be started on any recording devices as well.
• Start playback on the AV source unit.
