Configuring the Infrared Settings for
FIR
You will need to change the settings for the infrared device in the
BIOS (see “Components Menu” on page 5 - 16 ) to enable the FIR
setting support.
To configure your computer for Fast Infrared (FIR) communication
follow these steps:
1. Click Start , point to Settings and click Control Panel .
2. Double-click Wireless Link icon.
3. Click Hardware (tab), and click the properties button, then click
the Advanced (tab).
4. Select “Infrared Transceiver A” and change the Value to “HP
HSDL-2300/3600” .
5. Click OK > OK .
6. Restart the computer if prompted to do so.

blocking the “Line of
Sight” between your
system’s transceiver
and the destination’s
transceiver.
