2. DESCRIPTION

Each plug connector kit consists of a right-angle plug
assembly, ferrule, and cap. Kits that use RG-178 or 196
cable also contain a sleeve insert for installing onto the
cable. The heat shrink tubing (available separately,
listed in Figure 1 or a customer supplied equivalent) is
required for assembly of the plug connector kit.

3. ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE

Refer to Figure 1, and select the appropriate cable
type for the plug connector.

Any deviations from this procedure at the discretion

of the assembler could affect the performance of

the plug connector.

3.1. Cable Preparation

1. Strip the cable to the dimensions provided in
Figure 2.

2. Tin the cable center conductor.

Figure 2

3.2. Ferrule Crimp

1. For RG-178 or 196 cable, insert the sleeve insert
into the cable end of the plug assembly until it stops.
See Figure 3, Detail A.

2. Place the heat shrink tubing, then the ferrule,
onto the cable. Flare the cable braid. See Figure 3,
Detail B.

It is important to install the heat shrink tubing for

product reliability and performance.
