h. Finger tighten the base mount cap screws.
i. Turn adjusting screw counterclockwise
approximately one turn.
j. Install gage as described in Specification 102-
35022 (and as shown in Figure 3), or as
described in 408-8535.
k. Hand-cycle the machine, observing the gage.
Refer to appropriate customer manual for hand-
cycling instructions.
l. Continue to cycle the machine and turn the
adjusting screw counterclockwise until the gage
dial indicator registers -.004 (± .001) inches.
NOTE
i
Be sure to complete each cycle. Do not make
adjustment under load.
m. FULLY TIGHTEN base mount cap screws
using hex wrench.
n. Hand-cycle the machine, observing the dial
indicator. The reading will change when the
screws have been tightened.
o. Continue to turn adjusting screw
counterclockwise (IN VERY FINE
INCREMENTS) until the dial indicator on the
gage registers "0."
p. If the dial indicator registers more than "0,"
return to Step e and begin adjustment procedure
again.
q. Install applicator.
NOTE
i
Applicator must be in proper operating condition.
r. Insert wire of proper gage into terminal and
terminate wire.

s. Check crimp height of termination using crimp
height comparator (refer to 408-7424). Further
adjustment should be based on readings taken
from the crimp-height comparator.
NOTE
i
Use applicator shims for proper crimp height
adjustment.
t. Seal the base mount cap screws with a plastic
sealing compound.
u. When using gage 679655-1, use one
applicator with the proper crimp height when
adjusting several terminating machines.
