The detector can be fully tested using the test button
(fig. 1d)
. Perform a test at least once
a month. Press the test button (for up to 5 seconds) until a loud, pulsating alarm signal
(approx. 85 dB) can be heard. When necessary (usually about twice a year), wipe the
device with a clean, dry cloth and clean the outside with a vacuum cleaner. The device
automatically performs a test. If there is a fault, the
orange LED (fig. 1b)
will light up
continuously. This indicates that the detector needs to be replaced.
NOTE: To ensure your safety, the PROTECTOR GD 230 V ∼ is designed to be highly sensitive.
For this reason, the sensor may also react to other gases (e.g. propellants in aerosol spray cans
and disinfectant sprays).

properties of the particular gas:
-
Natural gas (CNG, methane)
is lighter than air and collects beneath the ceiling.
-
Liquefied/bottled gas (LPG, propane/butane)
is heavier than air and collects at floor level.
• Disconnect the gas supply at the main cock/bottle valve.
• Arrange for an engineer to check your gas appliance.
