INTRODUCTION
Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the
instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If
you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.
GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Read all the instructions.
2. Read all instructions carefully and thoroughly before any operation of the kettle.
3. Before connecting the kettle, ensure that the voltage indicated on the identification plate corres-
ponds with the main voltage.
4. Connect the appliance to an earthed wall socket only.
5. The kettle is protected against damage due to operation with insufficient water by means of a sa-
fety cut-out. This cuts off power when the heating element gets too hot.
6. If the kettle ever runs dry while operating, first remove the mains plug from the wall socket, then
pour in sufficient cold water to cool down the heating element. The safety cut-out automatically
resets.
7. Place the appliance on stable flat surface. Ensure that the kettle cannot fall into water.
8. Pour away the very first water boiled with this kettle. The appliance is then ready for use.
9. Never use the kettle without the lid firmly in position.
10. The kettle will switch off automatically when the water is boiling. You can switch the kettle off
before boiling manually using the on/off switch.
11. First fill the kettle and close firmly the lid, then plug in.
WARNING
1. Only use the kettle for heating water.
2. Keep the children and infirm persons away from the kettle when it is operating.
3. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sen-
sory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
4. Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
5. Do not overfill as boiling water may be ejected. Do not fill above the MAX or below the MIN mark.
6. Do not touch the hot surfaces of the kettle or allow your hand to come into contact with the steam
from the spout or the lid aperture, especially when filled with hot water.
7. This appliance only coordinates with the power base supplied.
8. Before cleaning, always disconnect from the mains and allow the kettle to cool. Never immerse
the kettle in water at any time.
9. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified person in order to avoid hazard.
10. Always use kettle with filter, otherwise water may spout out when filled with 1.7L water.
