Layout

•  Decide on the position of the luminaire. Depending

on the location, an approved outdoor rated plug and
socket may be required. Alternatively an approved
outdoor rated external terminal block may be used.

•  Avoid locating any cables in positions that would

cause a trip hazard. Position cables away from areas
where they may be at risk from being cut, trapped or
damaged.

•  Cables that are to be in walls and concealed

underground must be protected using suitable
conduit or plastic trunking.

•  The driver is rated at IP67 and can be positioned

outdoors.

•  Each connector is rated at IP44 and can be

positioned outdoors.

•  The light units are rated at IP44.

•  Maximum distance between spike lights is 1500mm.

•  A maximum of 20 spike lights can be connected

together.

•  Ensure the connectors are accessible for future

maintenance.

•  Ensure that the ground is suitable for pushing the

spikes into, and can support the luminaires. Do not
install in very wet or boggy areas.

1) Do not plug-in at this stage.

2) After deciding the layout of the light fittings, ensure the cables are long enough to

connect to the desired positions. Each head links to the next via the IP44 screw fit
connector.

3) See Fig. 1. Push the stem into the light fitting head and then push the stem into the

spike. Push the assembled products into the ground.

4) Connect each spike light to the next in series by screwing the connectors together. See

layout diagram below.

5) Use the supplied blanking plug to cover last socket which is not being used, to prevent

water ingress.

6) Connect the 5m extension cable into the first socket.

7) Ensure all connections are tight. Plug into the mains socket and switch on
