The fan coil unit
has no energy by itself but provides heating or cooling with hot or chilled water from
central water supply system(heat pump or chiller etc)

fan of the unit blows
through

heat
exchanger

cool

If inlet water is cool, set the unit to cooling mode, the air outlet is cool air.
If inlet water is hot, set the unit to heating mode, the air outlet is hot air.
