8 You are now back in the "Local Area Connection Properties" dialog box. Click OK .
9 Click
Close
in the "Local Area Connection Status" dialog box and close the
Network and Dial-up Connections window.
By following the next steps you can verify that your PC now has got a new IP address
from the modem's DHCP server.
Check IP configuration:
1 From the Start menu select Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt. The
"Command Prompt" window appears.
2 Type
ipconfig
and verify that the "IP Address" is within the range 192.168.254.1
to 192.168.254.253.
3 If the "IP Address" is not within the specified range, type
ipconfig/release
and when the C:\> appears again type
ipconfig/renew
Verify the "IP Address" again according to step 2.
4 Close the "Command Prompt" window.
Now you are ready to configure your modem as described in chapter 5 - Configuring the
modem.
