If you again check on the voltage at the two transistors’ collectors with your oscilloscope,
you should see both the top and bottom of the input triangle get folded over. Perfect! So

how do we listen to this now?

Unfortunately, we can’t just attach an output socket to

the transistors’ collectors, since that would mess with the core mechanism by
pulling more current through it

.

Okay, so we’ll simply route the voltage through a non-inverting op amp bu

er connected

to an output socket, right? While that would work, there’s an alternate approach that
helps us streamline our design a bit.

If you don’t, try turning the input attenuator way down. The e

ect is clearest at about 5-10%

input volume.
