5.5 Displaying or Changing Port Attributes and Connection Methods
The Port 1 Configuration display includes the interface type, attributes and
connection methods for port 1. The Port 2 Configuration display includes the
interface type, attributes and connection methods for port 2.
To display or change port attributes or connection methods:
1. In the Top Menu, enter
1
to select Port 1 Configuration.

Enter
2
to select Port 2 Configuration.
The Port Configuration menu appears.
2. To display or change the serial port attributes for that port, enter
1
from the Port
Configuration menu. The current attributes are displayed.

You are prompted to modify the port’s values. Enter
y
for yes or
n
for no.
If you choose to modify the port’s configuration, a menu will be presented
for each of the port attributes.(Table 12 on page 14 lists all valid and default
values.) Each attribute menu will contain a numbered list of valid values.
Either enter the number corresponding to the desired value, or press
Enter
to
leave the value unchanged.
b. When the port attribute menus are completed, you are prompted to confirm
any changes. If you confirm, the EEPROM configuration is updated
immediately, but the change does not take effect until the next connection to
that port.
3. To display or change the port connection methods, enter

from the Port Config-
uration menu. The currently configured state (enabled/disabled) of each connec-
tion method is displayed. If a method is enabled, its configurable options are also
displayed. If a method is disabled, no configurable options are displayed.
a.
You are prompted to modify the connection values. Enter
y
for yes or
n
for
no. If you choose to modify the connection values, the utility will prompt for
all connection parameters. The utility will prompt to enable each connection
method, regardless of whether the method is currently enabled. Enter
y
for
yes or
n
for no. If you reply no, nothing more is done for that connection
method. If you reply yes (that is, to enable that method), the configurable
parameters are displayed and you are prompted for values.
