Type and Summary of Media
Settings
Each media has its own particular characteristics, such
as needing a large amount of ink when printing and
taking time to dry. If printing is not done according to
these characteristics, you will not get satisfying print
results.
You must register the print information and the media
setting values that are appropriate for the media you are
using to the printer and the RIP to print in the optimal
conditions for the media you are using. However, doing
many individual settings to be able to print optimally,
according to the size and characteristics of the media,
can be a complicated and time consuming endeavor.
You can easily, and quickly, register media setting
values to the printer using one of the following methods.
Using EMX Files to Save Media
Settings
An EMX file is a print settings file for each media type
and includes the following information, which is
necessary to print appropriately on commercially
available media. This is provided by Epson.
Use the provided software, Epson Edge Dashboard, to
download the EMX file and register the media setting
values to the printer.
