Solving Problems
If you have a problem with your printer, check the lights on the control panel to
diagnose the cause. You can also check “Problems and Solutions” on page 23 for
basic troubleshooting suggestions, or see your on-screen
User’s Guide
for more
detailed help.
Checking for Software Updates
Periodically, it’s a good idea to check Epson’s support website for
free updates to your Epson Stylus Photo R280 Series software.
Open your on-screen
User’s Guide
and select
Download the
Latest Software
or visit Epson’s support website at

With Windows, you can select
Driver Update
on the
Maintenance
tab in the
printer settings window. You can also click

If you’re printing on paper, your paper ran out. Load more
paper and press the

paper button to resume printing.
If you’re printing on a CD or DVD, the CD/DVD tray is not
inserted. Follow the instructions beginning on page 13 to
insert the tray, then press the

paper button.

light is on
One of the cartridges is nearly expended. Check the
message that appears on your screen to determine which
cartridge is nearly expended or follow the instructions in
“Checking the Ink Cartridge Status” on page 17. Make
sure you have a replacement cartridge.
