2.3.2 

Reset Circuit

This section describes the hardware reset circuit. When the hardware reset signal is input, all 

 in

the control circuit are reset, and the CPU executes the program from the starting address. Figure

2-20 shows the reset 

 block diagram.

The printer is equipped with two reset 

 

 is used for resetting the + 5 

 line and

 is used for resetting the +35 

 line. These reset 

 are described below.

 +5 

 reset 

Reset   

 monitors the +5 

 line on the 

 MAIN board assembly. If it drops to 42

 the reset   outputs a LOW signal to the CPU, gate array, and optional interface board. 

gate array outputs the RESET signal to the reset port of the CPU and 

also to the 

gate array itself, via

the delay control 

 (CR circuit). The delay 

 circuit

the reset timing for the CPU and Type B interface card.

 line. Normally, the dividing resistors (R27 and

the 22.9 V to 30.0 V range.

If this voltage

 the RESET signal (LOW level) is output to the CPU’s 

port. When the printer is turned off, this circuit operates and manages writing to the
