EP-TAK SERIES INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
PRE-INSTALLATION PREPARATION:
1.
Read entire contents before performing the installation.
2.
Select the installation point in the vehicle:
a.
EPL recommends to install on the side wall of the bus for efficient UVC operation
b.
Select the installation location, making sure its not objecting the over-head AC system or
other electrical/mechanical loads.
3.
Verify the voltage configuration of the power supply. It should not exceed 5% of the rated nominal
voltage of the EP-TAK specification sheet.
4.
Give ample workspace area at the job site to assemble the TAK unit.
PRE-WORK:
The pre-work involves unpacking the unit from its box, and possible pre-wiring for the power source.
1)
Wire the 120Vac power source (one hot, one neutral and one ground) to the installation location by a
professional electrician.
2)
Unpack the unit from the box and place the unit securely for installation.
INSTALLATION:
1)
Install the pre-drilled mounting brackets to the vehicle using the the supplied hardware.
2)
Mount the TAK unit to the installed bracket from step 1.
3)
Wire the TAK unit to the pre-wired power source.
a.
Black/brown wire from the TAK unit to the Hot/phase of the power
b.
White/blue wire from the TAK unit to the Neutral of the power
c.
Green/striped green from the TAK unit to the Ground of the power
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE:
Each TAK unit will have its own power control using a toggle switch located on the bottom side of the unit.
The toggle switch is easily accessible after the installation of the unit to the vehicle. For ease of simplicity
and operation, we used only one switch to control all the three great features of the TAK unit – UVC, TiO

and Ionizer. Turning off the toggle switch on the TAK unit will shut off all the three features of the TAK
series. We can hard wire the unit bypassing the switch if the customer requirement changes. Please
contact EPL for any questions for concerns.
EPL products do NOT usually require periodic maintenance, but since the TAK units are installed at a publicly
accessible location – it is advisable to check for any vandalism, foreign debris by the fans on the TAK units.
SERVICING:
EPL units contain no serviceable parts and require no adjustments. All EPL products are designed to provide
many years of air disinfection without any need for servicing. If the EPL unit does malfunction, have a
professional electrician inspect the wire connections. If the problem persists, contact your EPL sales
representative to discuss obtaining a replacement unit.
