This manual is intended to supplement the eWind
installation manual when installing the Enervent Cooker
hood and connecting it to the Enervent ventilation unit.
If the eWind installation manual and this manual differ
from each other, then this manual is to be followed.
Otherwise refer to the eWind installation manual.
Mounting options
The cooker hood extraction duct is to be connected to the
ventilation unit cooker hood duct connection. The Pinion
ventilation unit has two alternative connection options.
The Pinion
ON
, where the cooker hood is attached directly
underneath the Pinion unit. And the Pinion
OFF
, where
the cooker hood extraction duct is connected to the
cooker hood duct connection on top of the Pinion unit
In all other Enervent ventilation units the cooker hood
extraction duct is to be connected to the ventilation
unit cooker hood duct connection only (OFF-mounting
option).
Only Enervent Standard and Enervent Premium hoods can
be connected using the ON installation method; Standard
hoods for Pinion models and Premium hoods for Pinion
Premium models. All other cooker hoods must be installed
using the OFF mounting option. Connect the cooker hood
extraction duct to the ventilation unit cooker hood duct
connection.
The cooker hood
Any cooker hood connected to the Enervent ventilation
unit must meet the following requirements:
•
The cooker hood must be equipped with a grease
filter.
•
The cooker hood must not be equipped with its own
fan.
•
The cooker hood must be equipped with a potential
free NO (normally open) electrical switch contact that
closes when the cooker hood damper flap is in the
open position.
•
The cooker hood must be equipped with a damper
flap controlled by a timer that closes the flap airtight
after a predetermined time (max time 60 min). No
basic ventilation airflow is allowed through the cooker
hood.
COOKER HOOD INSTALLATION
Never connect the cooker hood extraction duct to
the ventilation extract air duct.
