6.3 Main Electrical Connection
Personally verify that the main circuit is OFF and Locked Out before making
any wiring connections. Use only copper conductors. All wiring installations should meet
National Electric Code (NEC) and local guidelines. Canadian wiring installations are to be done
in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.
Install the main electrical connection as follows (refer to figure):
1. Have a certified electrician install a wall mounted junction box near the boiler vessel
(close enough for the main conduit to reach the junction box). It is recommended that
the box be switchable with a lock-out feature. Verify the use of a dedicated circuit
(115VAC/single phase circuit breaker, 25Amp maximum per UL) - wired to code for the
size and type of service used. Make sure circuit is SWITCHED OFF prior to the next
step.
2. Route the main power harness from the Low Water Cut Off Control to the junction box
installed in step 1. Connect the conduit connector to the junction box.
3.
Connect the black wire from the conduit to the black wire (L) of the junction box, the
white wire to the white wire (N), and the green wire to the bare copper wire (G) inside
the junction box. Install the junction box cover.
