9 Additional DTM functions

9.4.2

Access control

The

Lock/Unlock

function allows the user to protect the WirelessHART Adapter from

unauthorized access. An explanation of the individual parameters is provided in the "Access control
parameters" table below.

Access control parameters

Parameter Meaning

Lock Code

• Unlocked: the WirelessHART Adapter is not protected. All the parameters can be

edited.

• Lock Temporary: the WirelessHART Adapter is locked. A device reset or power loss

will unlock the adapter.

• Lock Permanent: the WirelessHART Adapter is permanently locked. A device reset or

power loss will not unlock the adapter.

• Lock All: all the masters are locked.
In the case of all of the locks, it is possible to unlock the adapter again by changing the
"Lock Code" parameter.

Lock Status

The selected check boxes indicate the access status of the WirelessHART Adapter
• Device Locked: locked
• Lock is Permanent: permanently locked
• Locked by Primary Master (Reset if Secondary Master): the WirelessHART Adapter has

been locked by the Primary Master. A Secondary Master must be restarted to unlock
the adapter.

• Configuration cannot be changed: it is not possible to modify the configuration.
• Locked by Gateway: the lock was triggered by the gateway.

Wireless Module Firmware
Update Lock

• Unlocked: the firmware of the WirelessHART Adapter's radio module can be

downloaded.

• Locked: the firmware of the WirelessHART Adapter cannot be downloaded.
