Wiring diagrams for intrinsically safe power unit

For the WirelessHART Adapter with an intrinsically safe power unit, the following options are
available to electrically connect a field device:

5.5.1

Field device in a closed-control loop without a communication
resistor or two-wire field device

The following functions are possible with this connection version:
• Current measurement in the 4 to 20 mA range
• Digital HART communication if this is supported by the field device.

To communicate with the WirelessHART Adapter, connect the HART modem to terminals 5 and 6
or to terminals 7 and 8.

Connect the WirelessHART Adapter as illustrated below:

Note!

• As identically safe power supply systems do not provide sufficient output power, two separate

power supply systems are also needed to power a two-wire field device.
