1. Introduction
Nivotester FTC 4xx capacitive limit switches can be used in
conjunction with capacitive probes for level detection in liquids
and solids. The two models described in this manual are:
•
Nivotester FTC 420: basic version.
•
Nivotester FTC 421: with adjustable switching delay.
Nivotester FTC 420 and 421 capacitive limit switches can be used
for a variety of purposes in areas not subject to explosion risk, e.g.,
for overspill protection, pump protection and level monitoring - see
also Technical Information TI 127.
Measuring system
A typical measuring system, see Fig. 1, comprises:
•
the Nivotester FTC 420 or 421,
•
the EC 61 Z electronic insert for installation in the probe head
and
•
a probe, suitable for the medium to be measured
Probes
A variety of probes are available for use with the Nivotester limit
switches. Hauser will be pleased to advise you on
special applications.
