Fitting the Perforated Basket
The housing is supplied with a perforated bag support basket. There is an inner gasket fitted
under the basket. Check the
'O' ring groove and inner gasket for any damage, and place inner gasket in the groove.
Place the basket into position ensuring that the inner gasket does not become dislodged.
Fitting the Filter Bags
Push the bag into the basket that is situated in the housing and check that the filter bag ring
is fitted flush to the basket flare. Position the bag compression plate onto the top of the bag
ring, with the large plate fitting against the bag in the basket lip. Turn the handle so that it
locates under the 2 lugs positioned on the inside of the housing body, this will compress the
bag and basket against the inner gasket.
Closing the Filter Housing
For Housings with Vee Clamp Closure
Check the body flare, closure seal, lid and the Vee Clamp for any dirt or damage. Clean
away any foreign objects and replace defective parts as necessary.
Place the closure seal onto the flare at the top of the housing. Replace the lid.
The clamp has two adjusters, the normal open coupler that is to be placed at the front of the
housing, and a second retained adjuster at the rear. These should be loosened before fitting
the clamp around the cover lip and housing flare. A small amount of suitable lubricant can be
used on the sliding faces of the clamp. Tighten both clamp adjusters evenly by Hand Only to
ensure that there is even pressure by the clamp around the periphery of the housing and lid.
For Housings with Bolted Closure
Check the housing closure seal groove, the closure seal and lid for any dirt or damage. Clean
away any foreign objects and replace defective parts as necessary. Place the closure seal
into the groove at the top of the housing.
Housings without davit: Pull the lid down using the lid handle ensuring the seal is not disturbed.
Housings with davit: Swing the lid into position. Slowly lower the lid assembly by turning the davit
nut anti-clockwise until the lid flange is fully seated. Ensure that the seal is not disturbed
Swing the bolts / clamps up into position ensuring that the washers locate correctly and that
the lid is set squarely on the housing top ring. Tighten the nuts in a diagonal basis across the
filter housing. Do Not over tighten.
