MID/WOOFER MOUntInG
Remove the factory grilles of the front door and remove – if applicable – the factory installed full
range speakers or mid/woofers . Depending on the car brand and type, it is sometimes unavoidable
to remove the complete doorpanels to gain full access to the speaker openings .
If this is the case, you should buy some spare plastic clips for remounting of the door panels after
your install is complete, as these clips tend to break quite easily .
Note that a tight fit of the door panels is important, since door panels with a loose fit swallow bass
energy and they may add unwanted rattling and distortions to the sound of your speaker system .
Before you proceed to mount the EMPHASER mid/woofers, check the available installation depth
with both front windows down .
Route the speaker wires from the crossover to the cut-out where the mid/woofers are to be mounted .
Connect the speaker wires to the mid/woofers . Pay attention to the polarity imprints on the terminals
and wires when connecting the mid/woofers .
X-OVER MOUntInG
The crossover can be mounted in almost any location inside the vehicle . Recommended places are:
Inside the door, under the carpet in front of the door angles, under the dash board etc . Just don’t
mount the crossovers in places where they may be exposed to water . Consider to find a spot that
allows you to fine tune the tweeter attenuation level, after your install is completed .
Connect the tweeter wires, the wires from the mid/woofers and the wires from the amplifier to the
crossover units . Make sure all wires are hooked up with correct polarity, i .e . electrically in phase,
which means positive (+) is connected to positive, and negative (-) to negative .
Out of phase connections, i .e . when a mid/woofer is concerned, will cause very low bass output
and a weird staging .
