Hardware Preparation and Installation

MVME4100 Single Board Computer Installation and Use (6806800H18D)

The console settings for the MVME4100 are:

Eight bits per character

One stop bit per character

Parity disabled (no parity)

Baud rate of 9600 baud

Verify that hardware is installed and the power/peripheral cables connected are appropriate for
your system configuration.

Replace the chassis or system cover, reconnect the chassis to the AC or DC power source, and
turn the equipment power on.

Factory Installed Linux

A bootable ramdisk based Linux image based on the 2.6.27 kernel is available in NOR flash. To
boot this image, use the following MOTLOAD commands:

MVME4100>

bmw -af8000000 -bf8f00000 -c2000000 execP -12000400

The image should boot to the following prompt:

Kernel 2.6.27 on a MVME4100 localhost login:
